Why doesn’t this work on Kindle/Nook/Kobo?
We believe that, for now, the iPad and iBooks combination provides a great way to experience these amazing books. The Windows Store app adds some great new features such as gold catching the light and the ability to annotate books. Testing on other platforms has not produced good results, but when some other compelling platform emerges, we’ll support it.
Will this run on my device?
eBookTreasures is optimised for iPad, but will run happily on iPod Touch (3rd and 4th generations), iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 as well.
The Windows Store app runs on Windows 8 and Windows RT tablets as well as Windows 8 desktops. It won’t currently run on Windows 7 or earlier.
How big’s the download?
That depends on the number of pages and whether we have audio commentary with the book. For a 100 page book, count on 75-100Mb for the iPad version, less for the Windows Store version. You may prefer to use a wifi connection to download these.
Can I read iBooks on my Mac or PC?
Not at the moment. As Apple integrates iBooks more closely with iTunes this function may appear. Or not.
Why don’t you have xxxx book?
If you have an idea for a book that you think would be great on iBookTreasures, let us know and we’ll do our best to talk to the rights-holder. We’re trying to build a library of the most amazing books in the world though, so your Great Unfinished Novel may not qualify.
Sometimes the books seem a little unresponsive?
When a book first loads, eBookTreasures attempts to load all of the pages in the background. Some eBookTreasures are pretty large and this can take a minute or so. While this is happening, you may experience a slowdown. Alternatively, if you have a lot of open applications on your device, try restarting it and jumping straight into your book.
